Biography

The Hominids were founded in Berkeley, California in 1969 from the remnants of the bands Galimifaugry and 22 Pennington Place.   After their initial recording contract fell through, the group briefly disbanded then reformed in Los Angeles in 1973.    While some band members enjoyed the sun and sin of L.A., others fled to the quiet splendor of the mountains, settling in Evergreen, Colorado.   The mists of time cloud the intervening years, but in 1996 the Hominids found themselves located in the Chicago area and began playing live gigs throughout the Midwest.   Constant touring and performing sharpened the band’s skills while shaping the meandering live show format they have since become famous for.
